What ethereumchile.eth is

ethereumchile.eth is a name on ENS (Ethereum Name Service), a naming system that runs on Ethereum and turns long addresses into readable names. Its owner and manager is enschile.eth, the name of Enschile, which edits this guide. If ENS is new to you, start with the ENS guide.

On September 7, 2026 it was renewed for 10 years, and it's paid through September 5, 2037; you can check it on its on-chain profile. It issues the official subnames for people and projects building on Ethereum from Chile. They all end in .ethereumchile.eth.

Clarification

ethereumchile.eth is not ETHChile (ethereumchile.org), a separate community that organizes the ETHChile event. They are independent projects. “Official” here means issued by ethereumchile.eth; it does not represent the Ethereum Foundation.

What a subname is

Every wallet has an address: 42 characters starting with 0x, for example 0x4c2a…9f1b. ENS gives that address a name. Instead of copying it by hand, you type yourname.eth.

A subname is a name that hangs from another one, the way blog.yoursite.cl hangs from yoursite.cl. It's created by whoever manages the name above it, and it works like any other ENS name:

  • It points to an address. Anyone who types yourproject.ethereumchile.eth into a compatible wallet reaches yours.
  • It holds a profile. Avatar, description, website and social accounts, in records that compatible apps can read.
  • It can be your primary name. That's the name compatible wallets show instead of your address.

Each level is added on the left: eth, then ethereumchile.eth, then yourproject.ethereumchile.eth. In ENS, a subname never outlives its parent name.

“Tu comunidad tiene apellido” (“Your community has a family name”), episode 7 of the Ethereum Chile series (60 s, in Spanish; English subtitles in the player). It shows the real structure: ethereumchile.eth → goldboss.ethereumchile.eth → domo.goldboss.ethereumchile.eth.

Who it's for

People and projects building on Ethereum from Chile. For example:

  • Development teams and startups launching an app or a contract.
  • Communities and DAOs, organizations that make decisions through on-chain votes.
  • Student projects, from courses or universities.
  • Independent developers writing contracts, apps or tools.

Rules

  • One per project. If your team needs more names, you create them yourself under yours.
  • No third-party brands. Names of companies or projects that aren't yours are not issued.
  • Reserved words. ethereum, foundation, ens, admin, oficial, official, soporte, support, wallet and airdrop are not issued, so no subname can pose as an official or support channel.

How to request yours

Each subname costs USD 10 and spots are limited. There are two ways to get one.

On your own, on Namespace

Go to app.namespace.ninja/ethereumchile.eth (check that the address is exactly that), pick the subname, connect your wallet and confirm the purchase on that site. The purchase is an Ethereum transaction: on top of the price, you pay gas, the network fee.

On Telegram

  1. Pick the subname. One per project, with no third-party brands or reserved words. If you pick yourproject, your name will be yourproject.ethereumchile.eth.
  2. Copy your wallet's public address. It has to be a wallet you control, not the deposit address of an exchange, a platform for buying and selling crypto: a name sent to an exchange can be lost.
  3. Send both on Telegram. Message @enschile. Enschile tells you how to pay the USD 10, issues the subname and replies with the transaction link, so you can check that it reached your address.
Safety

On Telegram we only ask for your public address, which is meant to be shared: you don't sign anything or connect your wallet. If you buy on Namespace, connect your wallet only at app.namespace.ninja, never from a link someone sends you. No one will ask for your recovery phrase, the 12 or 24 words that restore your wallet. If anyone asks for it on behalf of ethereumchile.eth or Enschile, it's a scam. More warning signs in the safety guide.

What you can do with it

The subname comes without restrictions: you can edit its records, use it as your primary name, transfer it and create your own subnames under it. That lets you:

  • Get paid at a name. Once it points to your address, whoever pays you types yourproject.ethereumchile.eth into an ENS-compatible wallet instead of copying 42 characters.
  • Build your project's profile. Your avatar, description, website and social accounts go in the name's records.
  • Show where you build from. The .ethereumchile.eth ending tells people up front that your project is built on Ethereum from Chile.
  • Name a contract. If your smart contract —a program that lives on Ethereum— is set up for it, it can have a primary name and show up by name in block explorers.
  • Organize your team. Create names like payments.yourproject.ethereumchile.eth or ana.yourproject.ethereumchile.eth.

Each of those changes is an Ethereum transaction, paid with gas, the network fee, from your wallet. The issuance is recorded on Ethereum with its date.

Who controls it

You manage it from your wallet. As with any subname issued without restrictions, whoever manages the root name keeps the technical ability to replace it.

Content and social

The Instagram and Facebook accounts called “ethereumchile.eth” post short videos about what a .eth name does. A 10-episode series ran in September and October 2026 (the “Tu comunidad tiene apellido” video, further up, is episode 7), and since October they have been posting, together with Enschile, the “Test ENS · 30 preguntas” series, an ENS quiz in 30 questions.

Every link is at linktr.ee/Enschile. To request your subname or ask a question, message Telegram @enschile.

If you want to go deeper, Enschile's study guide “Your .eth Name with ENSv2” (in Spanish) is on pre-sale. It's part of a series of six guides at CLP 10,000 each, reserved via Telegram. Details are under Study guides.

FAQ

How much does it cost?

USD 10 per subname, on either path: at app.namespace.ninja/ethereumchile.eth or on Telegram @enschile. On top of that you pay network gas: for the purchase, if you buy on Namespace, and for any changes you later make from your wallet, like editing its records.

How long does it last?

As long as ethereumchile.eth, which is paid through September 5, 2037. The subname has no expiry of its own and you don't renew it, but in ENS a subname never outlives its parent name.

Is it an official Ethereum name?

No. It's an ENS name managed by Enschile, and it doesn't speak for Ethereum, the Ethereum Foundation or any community. When this page says “official”, it means issued by ethereumchile.eth.

Is it the same as ETHChile?

No. ETHChile (ethereumchile.org) is a separate community that organizes the ETHChile event. ethereumchile.eth is an ENS name managed by Enschile. They are independent projects.

What about ENSv2?

ENSv2, the new version of ENS, has been live on Ethereum since October 27, 2026. Version 1 names keep working and migrating them is optional, but there's no going back. A subname like yours isn't migrated on its own: it depends on the root name. To check anything about your name, type app.ens.domains into your browser yourself. More in the ENS guide.

Will I be asked to sign anything?

Not on Telegram: we only ask for the subname you want and your public address. On Namespace you sign one transaction, the purchase, inside app.namespace.ninja. No one will ask for your recovery phrase or ask you to sign from a link sent in a message: if that happens, it's a scam.

Can I have more than one?

One is issued per project. But you can create your own subnames under yours, like app.yourproject.ethereumchile.eth, for your team or your contracts. Each one takes a transaction from your wallet.
